The bones remember

Well, I found a few metal templates that I still had. I gave away most of them: bored, remember?
I then started using liquid clay on them and got these interesting results.

J'ai trouvé quelques pièces de métal dans mon fouillis. J'en ai donné plusieurs: because enthousiasme = 0.
J'ai utilisé ma pâte liquide ("pâte/liquide" ça n'a pas de bon sens ça!!) et j'ai obtenu des résultats intéressants.



It was fun and I had the intention of using up all my metal pieces. However, my bones remembered... I love to do tiny finicky work but my body does not. The old shoulder problems were showing up. So that's it for now. I have a few metal templates left and I will play with them slowly: one at a time, here and there.

Je m'amusais bien et j'avais l'intention d'utiliser toutes mes petites pièces. Par contre, mes os se sont souvenu... J'aime beaucoup le travail minutieux mais le corps, non. Les vieux problèmes d'épaules sont réapparus (je ne joue pas avec ça; j'ai appris). C'est donc fini pour le moment. J'ai encore quelques pièces métalliques et j'ai l'intention de les compléter, un peu à la fois, ici et là.

Unfinished business

As I was taking the last pictures of the pyramids, I saw a metal insert and had an idea. The story goes like this:
About two years ago I saw these little metal pieces at the local dollar store. I bought a few of them because I thought the textures would be interesting. You guessed it, I am always looking for textures!

En prenant les dernières photos du projet pyramides, j'ai vu le petit machin/truc en métal et j'ai eu une idée. Voici l'histoire:
Il y a environ deux ans, j'ai vu des petites pièces métalliques au magasin du coin. Pas chers du tout. J'en ai acheté quelques unes pour faire des textures. Que voulez vous, je suis accro des textures.



I started making textures with my new shapes. They were ok but nothing to holler about. However, as I was pushing the clay through the shapes I was taken aback by the results of the clay through the shapes. What an idea for a pendant. So I then started experimenting and shared my idea with my friends at the Morrisburg Polymer Clay Gathering. Some of them showed me their own happy results.

J'ai commencé à faire des textures avec mes nouveaux machins/trucs. Intéressants mais pas assez pour envoyer une lettre à ma belle maman. Par contre, en poussant la pâte à travers les trous, j'ai été surprise par le résultat. Oh, les beaux pendentifs faciles à réaliser. J'ai fait quelques expérimentations et cette année là, j'ai partagé mon idée avec les amies qui sont venues à la rencontre de Morrisburg. Plusieurs m'ont fait part de leurs heureux résultats.



I then tried other things with the pendants such as clay blends, even textures. I then got bored with the idea because too easy I guess. Set everything aside.

Par la suite j'ai fait d'autres essais sur les pendentifs avec des dégradés et même des textures; mais, je me suis ennuyée très rapidement avec cette idée très/trop simple. J'ai tout mis de côté.



Till a couple weeks ago....

Polka dots

Last June I had this idea for polkadotty pendants that would change colours depending on what was worn.

Au mois de juin dernier j'ai eu l'idée d'un pendentif qui changerait de couleur selon le vêtement porté.



Loved the effect but the problem was that they were delicate and wouldn't resist wear and tear.- That original one didn't!

L'effet était super mais... le pendentif en question était très délicat. Il n'a pas résisté longtemps.

So I thought that when I had some time to play, I would work with this concept. Time presented itself two weeks ago when 5 others and myself went to a cottage at Tremblant for a week of playing and a timeout from our busy lives.

J'ai donc pensé que, quand je trouverais le temps, je m'amuserais avec le concept. Il y a deux semaines, le temps s'est présenté à laporte, quand, avec cinq compagnes à la campagne, le temps s'est arrêté un moment.




I came up with a few ideas and possibilities.

With or without textures?

Texturés ou non?



Different size holes randomly placed or not? Colours? Blends?
So much more to explore for sure....when I find the time. (The story repeats itself.)

Trous de différentes grosseurs placés de façon aléatoire ou non? Couleurs? Fondus?
Possibilités à explorer....quand je trouverai le temps. L'histoire se répète!



Off for a week of babysitting. And then, I plan to sit at my worktable and do stuff.

Une semaine pour garder les petits enfants et pis après je m'assis (m'attache) dans mon atelier pour fabriquer des zaffaires.
